Small Wonders — Session 4

Some cities remain with us long after we have left them—not only through their landmarks, but through the everyday journeys that once felt so ordinary.

Continuing from the memories of Session 3, the fourth session of Small Wonders travels further into Chennai, this time through the metro and the daily journeys that connected different parts of life.

The conversation slowly moves beyond the metro itself, into the familiar rhythm of the city—the people travelling to work, the markets along the way, the streets that were crossed almost without noticing, and the everyday encounters that gradually became part of memory.

Saidapet Market, the Madley Subway at Mambalam, and the bustling Ranganathan Street come back into the conversation. These are not simply places on a Chennai map; they are fragments of a lived experience—places associated with movement, shopping, work, waiting, meeting people and the countless small activities that make a city feel alive.

What begins as a conversation about a metro journey eventually becomes a recollection of a Chennai that was experienced one ordinary day at a time.

A small conversation about journeys, familiar streets, everyday Chennai and the memories that continue to travel with us.
